Elite was established in 1986 when production commenced in small premises at Goole, East Yorkshire. Over the years Elite have increased their market share and now operate from purpose built premises of over 200,000sq ft still located in Goole.
Elite Office furniture’s main strength is being a true UK manufacturer. Elite’s state of the art manufacturing plant consists of the latest woodwork and metalwork machine technology, the most recent addition being an automated tube laser machine costing in excess of £600K. Elite’s Managing Director Mr John Hull believes in supporting the local and national economy by manufacturing 90% of all components within the Elite factory. This ensures that the local economy gain as well as backing the UK economy.
Due to the fact that Elite manufacture within the UK, there is a significantly reduced level of pollution / ‘Carbon Footprint’ as a direct result. Elite Office Furniture re-cycles all packaging and waste materials as part of their commitment to driving down pollution and waste. Elite operate a re-cycling plant at Goole that burns waste timber material and this process is linked to the factory providing it with heat.
In recent years, not only have Elite maximised the performance of many of their products but as a business they have also been awarded the Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme (FISP) accreditation by the Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA). ISO 14001, Environmental Management Systems for the reduction and monitoring of Carbon Usage. All Elite products are manufactured from 100% Sustainable sources and carry the European Standard for MFC sustainability PEFC.
Projects Successes
Elite have recently been awarded a contract to Supply B Sky B with 2500 workstations over the next 12 months. In addition, they have also been awarded a significant project at Newcastle University for the newly constructed Business School development that will accommodate over 600 people.
